I'm redesigning my php website, updating scripts and functions written many years ago.
I own the server, it keeps only my website, so I can do whatever I want with it
Do you think it's better to have many databases, each with his own purpose, or one database with everything in it?
Purposes could be newsletter, accounting, administration, back office, front office, and so on.
Consider that I have many tables, but all the databases together weight less than 4Gb (1Gb the most used)
I'm using Php5 and Mysql 4.1.22
