How to build REST Webservices

I have gone through net I found lot of websites but they are explaining about what is rest and what is PUT, GET.... methods.

They are fine but I need sample code, I didn't find any where sample code for building REST webservices.

I worked on SOAP regarding soap lot of websites are providing sample codes.

Can you please provide sample code for developing REST webservices and consuming webservices and as well please guide what are the steps i have follow for developing web services.

Well, there are entire books on the subject, so I'm not sure where to start. (Appears to be a free PDF e-book download there if you have an account.)
