I am a complete newbie when it comes to PHP. The reason for this thread is so someone can please explain to me and point me in the right direction to what I have to learn to do what I want.
Is it possible for me to achieve something exactly like excel in php? Does it have to be with mysql? Basicly the commands I am looking to use are VLOOKUP, ROUNDDOWN and MAX/MIN from excel. Can I make something so that it calculates everything behind the scenes and shows the user what he wants only? For example a dropdownlist where the person selects one of the 50 states. Once the person chooses a state it automaticly updates with statistics for that state. Now he chooses another state from another dropdownlist and it shows the statistics for that state as well, and then it compares the two and makes another statistic with which one is better. Can anyone explain to me how to achieve this please? What to look into so I can learn all of this.
