redirect echo output into file using php extension

Hi All,

I have made php extension that expose some php function to interact with my platform (written in c++). Now I want to add functionality in php extension that will help to redirect echo (php) output to into text file. i do not want the echo output comes on user console.
Please help me by telling the same.

I'm outta my league here, but I'd think this is platform specific ... and you don't specify your platform.

Unixen have "file descriptors", I believe, in places like /dev/fd/$n, or /proc/self/fd, or /dev/stdin ...
You can avoid writing to these devices through the shell, try Googling "output redirection".
