session is not timing out for one specific site - any ideas

I have two sites on my dedicated server - and they both use the same coding for login. But one site, once you sign in your session never seems to time out - or at least for days and days. The coding is the same. Any reason you can suggest this might e happening? I'm running linux from hostgator, with WHM installed, nothing out of the ordinary with it or with Apache. Appreciate any informed answer.

i thinking your problem could identical session id's or names and your only closing one?

check settings of the garbage collector.

look here and the other two gc related settings.

PHP's garbage collector shouldn't have anything to do with sessions living longer than a per-session basis - that's supposed to be taken care of by the cookie set on the client.

@: Have you done a phpinfo() on both servers and compared the values for the session.cookie_lifetime PHP directive?
