Im running a WordPress site with the Download Monitor plugin. Im fairly new to PHP so decided it would be best to come to this site for help.
Anyway, this Download Monitor plugin was aimed at files such as images, documents or programs. My use for this is to provided free music.
The downloads appear to work by using the .htaccess file along with download.php to sort-of mask the url from which the file came from.
Now heres the problem: Upon clicking the "Download Now" button, it will load mysite.com/download.php?id=4 then the browser loads the mp3 file displaying the actual url where the file is stored mysite.com/upload_hidden.
How do other sites, such as rapidshare, mediafire etc force the mp3 to download rather than load in the browser exposing the source url?
