Hi there everyone,
In the past, I've always built themes as a separate header and footer and on each page, the parts were called at the top and bottom of the parent page, respectively. Working on other people's scripts, I've seen that some people build a template page in a single file and place the content into the template via a method of replacement. As an example, they might have something like <!--content here--> in the center of their template and when the page is generated, the actual content shows up there.
I can imagine that the order of calling would be like this:
index gets content info and then calls template
template prints and places the content where the tag sits.
The only thing I can't figure out is how they're replacing the tag with the content.
Could anyone shed some light on this?
Any help you might provide would be greatly appreciated!
