Hi everyone,

i will be displaying banners on other peoples websites.
It is only possible to use html to display the banner.

is it possible to collect information of the user the visits the other websites, that requests the banner from my server?

What type of 'information' are you wanting to collect?

the remote site could link to an image on your site, then you would know as much about them via their image request as you would by any one visiting your stie.

Not quite as much as if someone visited your own site, an image only gives general information about the visitor. More complex information (browser, flash version, monitor resolution) can only be got from Javascript.

However, the image route is how a lot of old-school visitor tracking used to work.
