[RESOLVED] Where's the server?

How can I refer to the root directory of the server? I need to point to some include files. The directory, on my machine is:
C:\UwAmp\www\includes
I need to be able to do this when its LocalHost or Remote host.

So how do I refer to the root directory of the server regardless of where its running?

$_SERVER['DOCUMENT_ROOT']

That didn't work after all.

$_SERVER['DOCUMENT_ROOT']

points to the directory where the php script is running - right? What I need is a pointer to the location of the server itself.
