[RESOLVED] Newly Installed PHP/Apache configuration

I just installed PHP, MySQL, and Apache and when I go to test the connection to my Apache server using the localhost it tells me that the resource/host will not accept the connection. Can anyone tell me what is going on? I have been working at this all day.

Did you start the Apache webserver?

It tells me that the Apache monitor is already started. I cant find where to start the service and under my services on the local it does not list any apache processes

I just reinstalled Apache and found that I had not installed it as a service. I also re-installed php as well and after fixing the configuration files it still gives me the same message, that the host or service will not accept connections. What could be the problem?
