Host recommendations

Hi everyone,

I am hoping to be launching a new site very soon. We are still designing the site and even though it's not live yet, it appears to be very slow. Even uploading files through FileZilla often gets "Unable to connect"

I am presently with Hosting24.com and I have a paid gold account.

The site is PHP dependant and will be launched in Europe, in 9 countries. If I am noticing the server to be slow now, I can only imagine what it will be like, when it's live.

So, who can recommend hosts for this type of site and suggest the best type of server for this use.

Just a short update...

After being told that my server is set to a maximum of 10 simultaneous mysql connections for one database at the same time, I simply asked why would I want to continue paying for this service when free hosting are offering at least 16. They replied and said that they would increse my limit, in 2 - 3 weeks???
