Web form / file input using SFTP

I'm looking for a solution to allowing a website user to upload a file via HTML form/file input securely via SFTP. Or will having an https connection/SSL certificate in place offer the same security? I looked into the PHP ssh functions but I think they're what I'm looking for. Or are they?

Just serve the form and POST the data via SSL/https. You really don't even need to use https for the form itself, however, you want your site visitors to know that they're going to be using encryption, and it might help avoid warnings from the browser in certain configurations.
