Hi;
As I don't regard myself as being a "real" programmer, I am just looking for kind of general comments on the use of $_SESSIONS.
Once I figured out how to use $SESSIONS (in a very basic way) I believe I may have gone a little bit nuts with them. The stuff I write for my work-related websites pull all kinds of stuff out of MYSQL database tables and stick this stuff in $SESSIONS to save queries from running every time a page loads/reloads. There may be dozens of $_SESSION sub_keys/multidimensional arrays with (sometimes) megs of data contained therein.
If the users do a proper logout from any of my pages (that require logins) I believe in most cases...at least on the newer pages...the $_SESSION is killed. But if they just close their browsers or head elsewhere, am I taxing server resources for no good reason?
