I recently posted a "thank you" thread here in the EL. Tim's name should've been on it as well.

Obviously, if he hadn't started the site, no one could've helped me by posting on it.

So sad to hear this news. While I did not know Tim (unless I knew him from a different display name here?), I certainly have known this forum for a lot of years; so thanks, Tim, for providing me a comfortable place to hone my skills and then help others to hone theirs.

I've used this site many times, first to start figuring out how to support a website that I inherited, and then later to figure out to extend it. I never really thought about who created it, or why. Until now.

We all go through our day, never knowing how the things that we do will echo down through the future; who will be touched, and how it may help them. I never knew you, but my life was better because you cared enough to help me. Thanks Tim. Godspeed.

My condolences to the Perdue family too.

I never really thought about it, but his was a name that I associated vaguely with PHP. Was it here, was it Sourceforge, or both, I don't know for sure. But yeah, what he did made a difference in my hobby and career.

I remember when I decided to learn PHP in 2000 and discovered PHPbuilder.com.

I found one of Tim's articles, downloaded it then did everything he mentioned. I did that for about 10 articles and I kept PHPBuilder for 2 - 3 years.

PHPBuilder is one of the few websites that still uses .php3 file extensions, it's a legacy of Tim.

Makes me think of my own mortality. Maybe as programmers we spend too much time sitting. We do...

I appreciate the work he did and you guys continue.
