Mailer Form & Go Daddy

I'm hosting a website with GoDaddy. I built a registration form for a conference we are having soon and I kept getting error messages every time I would submit the form. I used my own php form and I have recently discovered that GoDaddy has restrictions on this. Because I am "Newbie" I don't understand what I need to do. I tried asking GoDaddy tech support and the first guy spoke over my head and the second guy was out-right rude. Normally their customer support is really good, but this has not been a great experience. I'm on the Windows based server.

Go Daddy says I have to use their gdform.php. Where do I get this? Do I have to create it? What do I need to change on my form.html page?

GoDaddy probably doesn't allow you to use the built in mail option and is trying to force you to use "their" service.

I've used the mail() function many times on GoDaddy websites, so it should be doable without using any of their stuff.

The traditional php mail() function should meet your needs based on what you described. Please note that all mail sent is subject to spam/virus filtering and possible rate limiting.

Also, my one customer on GD I could not use my normal contact processing for, because normally I use PHPMailer to connect to a SMTP server however GD does not allow this, and you can only use the mail() function.

That doesn't exclude you from using PHPMailer (which is also perfectly capable of using PHP's internal mail() function).
