How to get two first sentences from a record

I am happy to be here.

I would like to create a query that will only output the two first sentences from a field. I have been mulling over for a long time but I have only created a query which gives me the first sentence. The query is as follows:

select name, substring(descript, 1, instr(descript, '.')) as description from heroes where skill='flying'.

I've used a dot as a signal that one sentence is ended. Now I am wondering how to change the query to receive TWO sentences and NOT ONE.

Could somebody help me to improve the query?

use SUBSTRING_INDEX()

SELECT name,SUBSTRING_INDEX(descript, '.', 3)as description from heroes where skill='flying'

[cretaceous]

and remember to hope that people do not write...

(i.e. three dots in the text)
or come to that they do not write an abbreviation like "i.e."
maybe you should search for dot followed by word space

I've seen some use

dot space capital letter

not possible with SUBSTRING_INDEX() however.
