[RESOLVED] Prevent specific page lines from printing?

Hi;

This might be more of a general HTML question, but is there a way to prevent certain elements visible on a web page from being included in a printout?

ie. Say I have a "go back" button at the top of a page that shows a form, and a table of data under it. Is there a way to "cloak" the line with the go back button so that it does not actually print?

Ideas? Thanks.

I have not been able to get back to this question/problem for a couple of weeks as a whole lot of other stuff got dumped on me (if you want something done, ask a busy man...which tends to be me).

I added the aforementioned to my morass of css elements and with a little additional searching found that I could apply it within a set of <div> tags (which confuse me...I don't really understand the div concept very well)

Thusly:

echo "<div class=\"nonprinting\"><form method=\"POST\" target=\"_self\" action=index.php  title=\"Back to the start page.\"><input type=\"submit\" name=\"ACTION\" value=\"GO BACK/CANCEL\" CLASS=\"greenSubmit_2\"></form></div>";

...and it seems to do exactly what I want.

Now I've gotta see if I can use the concept to when exporting tabled data displayed with controls to Excel spreadsheets.

A <div> is a box that "starts a new line". That's all. It doesn't mean anything. Divs are there for when there is nothing more meaningful (like <p>, <h1>, or <form>) available.

In your example, you do have a more meaningful element available: the <form>. Put the class on that.
