populate drop down box

ok.. i need some help please on this one.. Any input or direction of input would be appreciated. What I want to do is populate a drop down menu... the drop down menu is populated from sql... Once I select that item in sql then only those items with that name age and books plus other info show up.. I dont want jesses to show up or ryans to show up or any other people who are 44, or who 6 books to show up... I have a idea how to do this with a search... But I would love to do it with a drop down menu...

EX For names I want Dave to show only + age 44 + Books owned +6

<Names> <Age> <Books Owned>

Populating a drop down list with items from SQL search isn't that tricky. Something like:
