Record Page View (not Bots or Spiders)

Hi all

I have a simple UPDATE query/function which increments a value by 1 when a user visits a specific page on my website.

A concern of mine is that these results may be not true to form as spiders and bots would also trigger this function.

What would be the best approach to ensure only genuine visitors were recording page views?
