Creating a "Search Range" Field?

Greetings Everyone,
I'm building a real-estate rental listing site, and I need to set up a search function where people can see properties that range between between X and Y in price.

For example, maybe I would have two search boxes saying something like:
From $__ to $__

What is the technical name for this? Can someone point me to some tutorials on this?

jut need to add to the search query
... WHERE price >= $MIN and price <= $MAX ..

usully I see the max\min selected from predefined values rather than being a free text box,not that it changes much.

Yes, I plan to build this with predefined values, as you say. The trick for me is making this part of the form fields.
