Hi all,

help and advice required. A few weeks ago my hosting company udated php on my dedicated server and the whole thing went tits up. To cut along story short I endded up rebuilding the server restoring all the applications/software and data back to how it was before the failed update.

I am now looking at doing the update myself but before I jump in with two big feet I would be greatful if someone could advise on the best approach.

The server is currently running:

Linux
Apache/2.2.3 (CentOS)
PHP 5.1.6
MySQl 5.0.45

I have started to read the following web page but I am not sure if this is the correct way.

http://en.ispdoc.com/index.php/Updating_PHP_in_CentOS_Linux

Any advice you can give would be great.

Best regards,

Dereck

    HI Weedpacket,

    Thanks for your reply.

It is in relation to my previous post and to be honest in the previous post I was getting confused so I thought it better to start from the beginning.

It took us hour of work to get the server back to where it was prior to the hosting company screwing it up. I am very reluctant to approach them again. I trust the forum community far more than I do the hosting company.

      Hi all,

      Can anyone give some advice.
