Next function not working

I have an issue with the NEXT function in this syntax. I am a newbie to PHP, inheriting this page. The Previous works like a charm. It is the last half that creates the error.

Which would be... what? "Not working" doesn't tell us much.

This section of syntax does not display a NEXT button that pulls the next entry from the MySQL database. Do you see anything wrong with the syntax? The code was written in 2006. I do not know if there is some compatibility issues. THANKS

Where is $resultnum ever defined?

You still haven't described the error.

(Although I can see a problem: if either $REQUEST['view'] or - especially - $REQUEST['resultnum'] aren't set then you risk running into problems where you try to use their values.

Ok, I am struggling to get you what you guys need. My apologies!
I have pasted the entire code in minus the database path.

When you say "$_REQUEST['resultnum'] aren't set " what does set look like- what do you mean?

Everything displays correctly except the Next button. This links the user to the next cell in the database. When you click on the button it displays an "Error" message as the code calls for. I am not a php guys, obviously, and am struggling to see why this is happening.
