[RESOLVED] .htaccess issue

I'm trying to do a .htaccess redirect such as:

mysite.com/admin

redirects to:

mysite.com/admin2/index.php

Here is my currect .htaccess file

RewriteEngine On 
RewriteBase /
RewriteRule ^mysite.com/admin(.*)$ mysite.com/admin2/index.php$1 [L,R=301]

It does the redirect but ends up in a loop. I'm using an Apache server.

Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks.

Also, as a side thought/conversation.... phpbuilder.com should throw some type of conference. Something with education seminars(maybe weedpacket or laserlight can teach 🙂 - I'm pretty sure most could teach me a lot!) - other seminars like what's new, PHP tips & tricks... a meet and greet. Just a fun thought.

The L declaration should stop the loop from occuring. In any case, the patterns is matched, also for admin2 pages. So you could add a condition:

RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !^/admin2(.*)$

The problem is your RewriteRule; the rule is only applied to the 'path' portion of the URL, so 'mysite.com/admin' in a RewriteRule suggests you're trying to match a URL like:

http://mysite.com/mysite.com/admin

Also note 'mysite.com/' in the second parameter looks like a relative path; either get rid of the domain portion, or use a full URI (e.g. one that begins with http(s)://) - you can't just pick out bits and pieces and expect it to make any sense.
