Best Free Ajax Image Gallery

I'm looking for a good image gallery solution that just allows the user to click on a photo and open up a pop up with right and left buttons that lets them see all the photos.

Thanks, I know about Lightbox and thickbox, but they have limitations. Now I'm looking at Fancybox. But most of the free solutions have really minimal documentation so I'm trying to avoid downloading a bunch and finidng what I need by trial and error. That's why I posted here.

The best solution would be one that has the images pop up in a window and displays right and left navigation arrows in transparency over the image (Lightbox has little white arrows, which I don't like much). A 2nd feature would be the ability to also display a bunch of thumbnails below the image and have the option of displaying them in that same image window without reloading the page (for pages where I don't want the pop-up).

Does anybody know a script that does that?

You could easily do this with jQuery UI's Dialog feature to make your own. It has a modal option and it displays a div as you define it... what you can do in this "Dialog" is entirely up to your imagination!

Yeah, I found a couple that work OK and decided I'd like to have the option to do more things. Like add videos too. For videos, there is one really simple one: videobox

Then I started looking at a couple that use the mootools library. I guess I'll have to go into that and jquery to see what I can do.
