New To PHP, Advice Needed!

Hello Everyone,

I want to create my own Mafia game such as, "Infamous Gangsters" have i come to the right place

Basically im new to PHP coding and i want to know a list of things before i start to learn

1.) Does it cost to create a website such as: Infamousgangsters.com?
2.) How long does it take to learn PHP coding before i have enough experience to create one?
3) Does anyone have any useful documents on PHP coding which i can read to learn basic knowledge?

Do you already own a domain name? Do you already own a server? Do you already own sufficient bandwidth to connect that server with the internet and support the traffic of the website?

If so, then no. If not, then most likely yes.

That's a highly subjective question, one that no one but yourself is probably qualified enough to answer.

I would suggest becoming quite comfortable with referring to the PHP manual (there's a [man]tutorial[/man] that introduces some introductory topics). Beyond that, there are a variety of ways of going about learning a programming language; which one best suits you will depend on... well, you.

If you can, I'd advise buying (or borrowing from a library at least) an O'reilly book on PHP, as these are (in my opinion) the best computer programming books available.

However, if you're trying to learn PHP on a shoestring budget, then Google around for PHP tutorials. PHP has moved on a bit since I was first using those tutorials, so I couldn't recommend any great ones just now. It will be easier if you've done any kind of programming before (Javascript, etc) but if not don't worry, as PHP has a fairly easy learning curve.
