ftp to cloud storage

I am setting up something basic to back up some mySql databases once a day.
So I intend to run a cron job that zips and encrypts the db, then ftps it to a free ftp service like Drive HQ

I guess if I structure the names of the uploads I can then delete old ones via the script

Anyone know any other low cost storage services or have any comments?

Have you considered using Rackspace Cloud Files or Amazon S3? It's not free but it's super cheap -- I think they only charge you for uploads and it's very little. They offer PHP libraries to make things easier.
