[RESOLVED] New enquiry on "can the sql dbase count stuff"

Ok here goes, I'll see if i can explain this ok....

suppose I have 3 columns to keep this simple, name, email, answer.

suppose the users put inputs to these, so examples,
fred [e-mail] answer1
susan [e-mail] answer2
john [e-mail] answer1
mary [e-mail] answer1
brian [e-mail] answer2
jim [e-mail] answer4
tony [e-mail] answer3
and so on, bla bla bla ... 1000's of rows

Now then I come along and want to find out quickly, what was the top answer, what answer was given the most and how many times???

what is the second top answer???

My Question:

Do I have to query search each answer and do this manually, or can the dbase be queried for the answers?? Baring in mind, there will be hundreds of possible answers, hence doing this manually could be laboriously slow.
