How to install phpMyAdmin?

A couple of weeks back, I installed xampp 1.7.3 and was running my phpmyadmin tool via xampp smoothly. Later, I installed PHP 4.3.0 and mySQL and configured the php in my IIS. I am using Win XP SP 3 Professional Edition. But after that, I can't seem to access phpMyAdmin and an error message containing some string error was popping up. I uninstalled xampp. My IIS, PHP 4.30 and mySQL are all working fine at the present.
Can I install phpMyAdmin alone without xampp as I already have a web server running (IIS) fine in my XP. Can someone tell me the steps or provide me some legit links?

Why on earth are you using PHP 4.3.0??? The entire PHP 4.x branch has been abandoned altogether by the PHP developers, and many applications require at least PHP 5.2 (some even 5.3).

I would very strongly urge you to consider upgrading to PHP 5.

Yikes; I didn't even notice that, probably mentally edited it to say "5.3.0"! I'm scared to know what the reason is, because you'd have to make a particular effort to download that particular version from PHP.net.

No clue why you uninstalled XAMPP since it has what you were looking for and was working.
