White area outside the website page

Hi all!!!

How do i change the white area outside of the website borders? I'm trying to make my site stand out more.... Here is an example of what i want to do http://wahanda.com... They used a grey "cloth" type effect with a shadow under the site.

I'm not a developer but have b@lls of steel and am willing to try and have a go at changing it (ok some php development knowledge but not massive amount!!)

Is this a relatively easy process to do or am i biting off more than i can chew?
I understand the basics of adapting the style.css and editing the .php's so am very willing!

Any help or advice is greatly appreciated and very much welcome!!

The area outside the website boarders is part of the HTML body element. You set its style using the background-image property of CSS. If you don't already have it installed get the Firefox extension called Firebug, it lets you click on an area of a website and you can see what styles have been applied to what elements. You can even change the values, to modify your local copy of the page. It's how I learn what techniques other people have used.
