warning fopen function.open url file access is disabled in the server configuration

Hi there, i have a wordpress blog hosted by 1and1 internet and it has a datafeed plugin, everytime it tries to pull in a new data feed via a url i get three error messages. i have looked online to find a solution and have found one or two but dont have a clue how to fix it. I have uploaded a screenshot of the error messages, i would appreciate any help as i have spent a lot of time trying to fix this, thanks for any help in advance, regards steven.

You'll either have to convince your hosting provider to change the PHP configuration to set allow_url_fopen to be "on", or else replace the code that is trying to access a URL via file functions to instead use the [man]cURL[/man] functions.

Hi there, thanks for your advice, I will put your information to my web host who are 1and1 but the curl option i wouldn't know what to do or where to start. my web hosting company are very unhelpful but i will see what they say, regards steven.
