[RESOLVED] html doctype via include

Does it make sense when one needs html to put the <html> !DOCTYPE info at the top of a php page or is it okay to include the html info from a separate include file? An include file seems cleaner, and in my limited tests, seems to work fine, but I wonder if I am going to see some unforeseen consequences...?

It really makes no difference if you write the doctype in HTML on the actual page or if you include it via PHP.

EDIT: I guess the only potential consequence is if for some reason the file you're including which contains the doctype is not available; then your page doesn't have a doctype.

Yeah, that's what I thought. The question originally occurred to me because I typically use an include statement to get my HTML info, which has the </head> and <body> tag in it. But then in the php page I'll put the <title></title> tag. I guess I could change my ways and leave the </tead><body> out of the HTML page, putting those into the PHP page.
