Greetings!

I have an old backup computer. It has a Windows Me operating system. I bought it in about the year 2001.

Will my old computer work with a newer, flat screen monitor?

There are several monitors offered for sale on eBay. The ones that I am looking at have brand names like Acer, Lenovo, and LG.

The old clunker monitor for my backup Windows Me computer has a cable end that has three rows of pins. There are thirteen pins total.

I would appreciate any input.

Thanks.

Thanks for responding to my question.

The receptacle on the back of the old computer has three rows with five rows each for a total of fifteen pins.

However, the plug on the end of the cable for the old monitor has only thirteen pins. There are two empty spots where two more pins can go, though.

I have got a newer flat screen monitor (I-INC brand) that I bought about a year and a half ago. I plugged my new monitor into the old computer. The Windows Me started up just fine for a few seconds using my newer monitor - then it went blank.
