You are to design a web ordering system for a book store. This company has a very small number of items available for sale and wishes to expand its sales potential by offering an on-line mail order purchasing service.
Your task is to produce a web page which will allow a customer to order a combination of their products as listed below. The user should be able to choose the quantity that they want of each product.
Your ordering system should also ask the user for their address and credit card details, although you do not need to charge their card/dispatch the goods. Users should also have a choice of what class of postage is used to dispatch their purchase. In summary, your order page should allow the user to:
Select quantity of each product.
Sony E-book reader - £199.99
Collection of 100 assorted e-Books - £19.99
Programming in PHP (Hard copy book) - £24.99
Beautiful Websites (Hard copy book) - £14.99
Select postage class:
First class (£10)
Second class (£7.50)
Next day (£15)
Enter name, address and credit/debit card details.
Having placed the order the customer should receive a response from the store detailing what was ordered, showing the following information:
Display a summary of what they ordered (including total cost for each product, e.g. 10 Books at £24.99 = £249.90).
Display the total amount of their purchase, calculated as follows:
The sum of each product price multiplied by its quantity.
Add postage cost.
Add VAT (20%) to the total (incl. to postage). You need not worry about rounding this correctly.
Display the name and address to which the goods will be dispatched.
