How do I read a csv file, sort it and write it again in a modified way. Sure, I can do it manually in Excel in three steps. However, it needs to be done automatically through a script. Any ideas? Your help is very much appreciated.

You might want to also look at [man]fputcsv/man for the writing part, depending on your needs.
