[RESOLVED] What have I done wrong here **Eyes are hurting**

Hi,

I deserve to be flamed for this stupid easy question but my brain and eyes are not at their best today. What have I done wrong here:

<?php echo '<script type=\"text/javascript\" src="' . dirname(__FILE__) ' . "/../" . "js/FF-cash.js">'. "</script>";?>

you have your single quote ' and your concatenating ' . ' reversed after dirname(FILE)'."

should be:

<?php echo '<script type=\"text/javascript\" src="' . dirname(__FILE__)  .' "/../" . "js/FF-cash.js">'. "</script>";?>

See told you it was stupid, all because of one "dot", time for a break I think 🙂

EDIT: Sorry thats not working either, this part is highlighted in red:

is that second line being echoed out or is that HTML?

also, your first post your escaping a double quote but you started your echo with a single quote

try this:

<?php echo '<script type="text/javascript" src="' . dirname(__FILE__)  .' "/../"."js/FF-cash.js"></script>';

dirname makes no sense for use with a href/src tag because it shows the path on the file system not of the web system, if that makes sense. Consider that you probably have no folder in your web root called var, which in turn doesn't contain a folder named www, which in turn etc...

I do agree with you but when the content is placed on a virtual host server there is no /var or /var/www The includes that I use still resolve correctly as desired.

Im not one to dismiss other ways so maybe you could advise how you would contruct href dynamically? 🙂

As stated in your other thread, I just use a constant URL defined in a config file.
