How to setup a file download in php?

I'm trying to setup a site where I have a video that anybody can download, but they have to insert their email address first, before they get access to download the file. So if they click on the download button before inserting the email address, they should get a message saying that they need to insert the correct information before downloading the video.
Also when they insert the email address and click the download button, I want to link their email address to my email address.
Any help??

I think you can add a login system to your web site.. then It will help you to provide downloads to your registered users. It is very easy to check weather your download users are registered or not. If someone who is not registered in your site and try to download your videos, you can create your script to redirect to the register page or who is registered but not log in to your site, you can redirect to the login page from your download pages.

You can have a form that says "enter email", then when they submit the form, check it with a regex to see if it is a valid email. If it is, display the download link, if it is not, either send them to a page that says you must submit an email to download, or just redisplay the email form with an errror message.
