How to recognize US Telephone number

i need a php script that can tell if a file with usa numbers
if they are cellphones??how can you check this?if its cellphone or landline because you know there is not way to tell
if a number is cell or landline just by looking at the number i need it for usa where numbers are assigned as
area code/location

If the numbers of cellphones in the US are anything what they're like in Canada (and from my experience they are), there's no way to tell just by looking at the number if it's a cellphone or land line.

you would have to use some 3rd party service/API to do something like that... I'm sure you can probably find a free one out there. I used melissadata.com a few years ago but I'm not sure if they have that API up there or not. Even when they did it was outdated - as to what number was associated to what carrier.

doing a google search I found this place - "clubtexting.com". weird name but seems like it will accomplish what you're looking for.
