How can i write a query that ll return the following results:

The main requirement here is,a bunch of boarding school kids should be able to vote for their favourate item everyday,

The results of the foodpoll should be available to the warden on weekly basis,the demand of the items voted on a particular day must also be shown as in the example above

please note that the numbers enclosed in parenthesis against the food_ids is the vote_count

If you're only going to show the results on a weekly basis, the naive solution should be good enough: execute 7 queries, one for each day, to select all the rows for which the vote_date is within the given day.
