I am currently working on an open source PHP project that was abandoned a couple of years ago whilst it was still in the early days of development.

I have got it to a point where I am about to release a Beta version, but before I do that I want to get rid of any files that are not required. Apart from going through each file, is there any way plugins I can add to Firefox, Opera, Chrome or Safari that will tell me which files are referenced to the public end of the site.

I think this would be useful for further development as well as I will be able to do a cross reference detaling which files work with each other to do certain functions.

I have a good idea of the script after nearly a years work on it, but there are still aspects which I have no idea how it does it, it's just that those sections were working when I got it.

Any help would be appreciated.

I suppose there might be a plugin to log all resources loaded as you crawl through the site... but note that wouldn't tell you anything about the PHP files that are (or are not) used - only the client-side resources (e.g. CSS, images, Javascript files, etc.). (This should already be obvious - how would your browser know what the server is doing behind the scenes?)

To that end, you could just devise some sort of tool (in PHP, for example :p) that parses your webserver's access logs and lists any files that don't appear within it.
