var_dump to mysql

I am working with Applicationcraft mobile platform.
I am sending the contents of a 'widget' using http request to a php file.
My php file then simply echos back to the device for testing.

var_dump($_REQUEST['data']);

I now need to extract the data and populate a mysql table.

I can do the database side on things okay.
How do I

get the data from the httrequest.
extract the data from the various 'fields'

eg I would then build a mysql string to insert a record with values Desc equals Desc1 - Desc2 - Desc3 etc

As the result of the var_dump indicates, [font=monospace]$_REQUEST['data'][/font] is an [man]array[/man], and works as such. (For a start, it has ten elements, with indices like [font=monospace]wyovaf7y-xpn1pb3h00br05dwbwvyfb7muhi[/font]).
