[RESOLVED] html form sent in body of email?

Hi;

Is it possible to create an HTML type form directly in the body of an Email? I know how to include a link to a page with a form on it, but what I am after is a form with a submit button (say, back to my inbox) right smack in the middle of the Email body (I get that the user would have to view the mail in an Email client with HTML enabled rather than raw text).

The stuff I have googled so far all seems to be point to all kinds of over-elaborate, fussy, proprietary/Outlook type stuff. I want something that is fairly browser/email-client independent.

Point me to something very basic?

Doing a quick search I saw this article on CSS-Tricks.com

I think you're still going to run into some issues, especially with Outlook and you could run into some black list issues with <input> & <form> tags.

There was also this link from the discussion where some testing was done on different devices/clients.

It's also worth mentioning the article I provided is a year old. I tested with lotus notes 8 and it wouldn't submit the form. It's probably going to be hit or miss until the email clients go by some HTML standarders. It's pretty surprising how backwards email clients are w/ HTML.

Thanks for the reply. I have been looking at that stuff but it does not look too promising (ie. easy enough for ME to do). I will probably just use sko link (maybe a prefilled "$get" version with the username for the person to which the message was sent)...which will probably be easiest for the many non-tech-savvy/tolerant users who must respond. I'm trying to avoid the need for a login step....but this pre-loaded link strategy might mess me up if people start forwarding "their" messages around to co-workers in order to be helpful. Reality sure has a way of messing up the efficiency of these here computin' machines.

I DID explore the "Collect and Update Data via Email" command/wizard that is available in Microsoft Access...but could not figure out how to access and edit the resulting form template created by the wizard. Also, even though my organization relies on Outlook, I'm sure that too many users will not get that you have to click the "Reply" button in order to actually use the form that appears in their message view/preview pane.
