county specific landing page. How can I redirect traffics ?

What I'm looking for is let say if my visitor is from US the it will go to the default

mywebsite.com

if from UK
mywebsite.com/uk

from Bangladesh
mywebsite.com/bd

and so on. If i don't have specific code for certain countries traffic from those countries will just go to he default page.

I can get the ip address by

$_SERVER['REMOTE_ADDR'];

Now, I want to match it with country specific ip addresses. By writing if else statement.

But I can't find any library function that contains ip list or something. Can any one advice me here.

if you google geolocation ip you will find a few both free and paid services, just remember there is no 100% guarantee that they will be correct. And country does not mean preferred language, if you where going down that path.

Quite right; and if this is indeed the ultimate information you're trying to determine, consider instead checking for an Accept-Language HTTP header and using it if present.

I some what agree, i just don't know how may people set the language in their browser, maybe at install it it determined based on the system variables. In either case its important to let a user select, and have that remembered.

Most browsers utilize system locale/regional settings (or package-based settings, if installing the browser from a package that doesn't include a variety of languages and/or doesn't default to English) when setting up the default values and also offer GUI options to force different defaults if the user desires. At any rate, I personally would trust the browser to have a good idea as to what language its user speaks, otherwise the user would probably be having a hard time even using the browser application (let alone trying to read the content of my website).

... which is exactly what the Accept-Language HTTP header is to be used for (e.g. as discussed by the W3C). I agree that it should be possible to override that language if the user desires, but I would still automatically use the value in the Accept-Language header on the first visit (i.e. without prompting for a default language).
