MySQL &Windows PHP

I need to create a script which will connect to a MySQL server, the platform is Windows, sorry I can't recall the version of PHP and the user has no control over the ini settings to change anything

What are my options for connecting to this database?..

I meant SQL server NOT MySQL

So how can I connect to SQL Server without any add ones?

If whoever wants it done wants it done, they have to allow it to be done, right? If that requires something to be installed that isn't already present then it's going to have to be installed.

Ah, indeed. I'm still using it on BSD with PHP 5.4 AFAIK --- I've not run that script for a while, since it's no longer mission-critical.
