[RESOLVED] An array in a table row

hello all,

I am looking to define a MySQL table where I will have 12 occurrences of the same set of 4 fields in each row. There are other fields as well in a row but they are non-recurring. How do I define this?

An example of field names:

1) Website URL

2 - a - Search string
b - Skip character count
c - End string

Set 2 consisting of three fields (search string, skip character count and End string) occurs 12 times in each row.

So each row consists of 12 x 3 = 36 + 1 = 37 fields.

Is there an absolute reason for there to be twelve, and not, say, eleven or thirteen?

Have one table with a column for an ID, and columns for the nonrecurring fields, and another table with six columns, one for an ID, one for the ID of a record in the first table, and the rest for the "four fields".

Actually I have changed the table structure slightly to accomodate everything in one table:

1) Website URL
2) Sequence-number
3) Search string
4) Skip character count
5) End string

The first 2 fields are my key. The Sequence number is a two digit integer and in combination with the Website URL becomes a unique value.

This way I can have not an exact 12 but as many as I want up to 99 per website URL - which is a number that is sufficiently high for my purposes.
