Drag something into a form input field?

Hi;

I posted a question the other day the must have been over-elaborate, as it got view, but no replies. I am trying to wrap my head around how I can "drag" something into a form input as the value for that part of the form. (ie. they drag a picture into a box, and what happens in the background is the name of that picture ends up in the value="" part of an input located there.)

...or is this too much of a "javascripty" thing to ask here?
