[RESOLVED] How To Pass Variables To Include Files....They Won't Pass As Normal !

In brief, I pass a variable through and URL from a external web page and it echos fine on the landing page, "Chat.php" However, I am unable to successfully pass the variable into "Include Files" of which there are 6-7 include file statements. I established the variable just before each appropriate include statement and within the included file echo revealed empty variable. I attempted "Sessions" which as well allowed the empty variable. Syntax is correct while everything else works fine I just continually get the empty variable?? Any ideas?

The manual page for [man]include[/man] shows the most basic example.

Could it perhaps be an issue of scope? Are you trying to use variables defined in one file inside of a function defined in another file?

Actually, there are no functions involved rather db connections and writes I am attempting to pass the variable for writing to the db. I have tried the global declaration as well within the receiving page.

You have to show some example code. What you're describing violates the manual, so it must be something else strange going on.

I was able to resolve the issue! I essentially stopped attempting to pass the "URL Variable" to the include file an attempted to retrieve the "URL Variable" from within the included php which didn't respond previously to a "POST Statement" However, I was able to utilize the "REQUEST" statement. Thanks for the assistance :-)

Since you never showed code, we'd just have to infer from your comments that you need to brush up a bit on variable scope. 😉
