how to add commission money to an user when he gets referral user

There are two types of user in my site-1. normal user 2. premium user

Only premium user can invite people through email. Email contains url with ref parameter that is userid.

When user creates an account with this link, ref id inserts into database. Now i want to add predefined commission to the user who got referral user. Actually, i want to pay User A for getting referrals up to level 7 and condition is that commission will be paid to user A when his referral switch to premium account.

Current table structure is:userid,name, email, pass, ref_by, premium(booleon).

How to add money column and what will be the logic or code?

You never said which DBMS you're using, so I'll assume MySQL for my reply.

Well, whenever you execute the INSERT query to create the new account, you'd also want to execute an UPDATE query to use the "ref id" and increase the value stored in the column you create above.

Thanks for your reply but i think you didn't understand what i want to ask. i know alter query and how to insert. i have asked how to add commission money in User A account when he gets a referral either direct or indirect.

Here indirect means referrals of B,C,D,E and F. That is why it is called 7 Level referral.

And what will be the table structure for that?

This is just like conventional referral programs when a user get a referral user and for that he gets incentive.

Any help would be appreciated.
