expire login's session

I would like to ask what's the best way to expire a login PHP session after sometime when it's idle?

Whatever works best with however you're managing login sessions.

Assuming you're using normal php sessions, [man]session_destroy[/man] would be a reliable way to make sure they can't be used anymore.

As Weedpacket says, it depends on how you are currently implementing them.
