I've noticed more than just a couple of sites that pretty much wouldn't show up at various times today.

Apparently something was up at the Goog.

Are you suggesting that everyone loading their JQuery,etc. from google servers might be having trouble because of server issues at Google?

I have always hated the idea of hosting my javascript from anybody else's site. The only reason for anyone to host your JS for free is to gain something from it at your users' expense, IMHO.

I saw more than a couple of sites have issues, including one of ours. They would hardly load at all.

Google itself was one of them. I traced it, in our case, to our use of the translate widget without calling it async (on the home page, no less). Needless to say, I fixed that ASAP.

I found it curious that I'd just read about this a couple months ago and then it crept in to bite me/others in the tuchis ...
