I'm looking to switch to a new PHP framework from CodeIgniter and was wondering what others are using. I've narrowed my search down to Symfony and Laravel. Reasons being, Symfony appears the most popular in larger companies (Zend framework is too I know but is very complex!) and Laravel appears nice to work with and on the up at the moment.
My needs are mainly, authentication, sessions, database CRUD, forms and validation. Whilst Laravel is on the up and very much the talking point at the moment, I don't know how sustainable that will be. Symfony have just raised 5 million euros which I guess is great for it's future. Laravel on the other hand looks nice and easier to work with but am a bit unsure on it's potential lifespan/if its just the current 'cool thing'.
